Dear Parents, Friends and Families,
This week the grade 5 students will begin their PYPx journey. The students hosted sessions for mentors and parents to explain to them about their roles in the PYPx.
A big thank you to the Grade 5 students and Ms Vani for helping to organise this event. Another big thanks goes to Prek-k, last week the class, visited an old-people’s home. They sang songs to them and listened to their stories. Grade 5 students looked after our youngest students and a great deal of learning was had by all.
With regards to recent parent questions about IT, I would like to clarify the following. All students in Grades 4 and 5 have recently signed a digital responsibility contract, and if they break the contract they will not be allowed IT time in school without supervision from the teacher or, allowed access to IT at all.
Secondly, we are blocking access to particular sites in school on You Tube, we hope that you can support this at home but monitoring what you child is watching.
Thirdly, each student in grades 4 and 5 will be given a Chrome log in identity password, that way we can trace any access to inappropriate sites immediately. In the meantime, please have a talk with you child about how they can identify inappropriate material on the internet.
Many thanks for your ongoing support of HIS,
